The overall purpose of respiration is to deliver fresh air to your body program through respiration and remove co2 from your body program through exhalation.  This is performed by the respiration system: with each respiration, air will first travel through the respiration oral cavaties of the nasal area and mouth and then to the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and bronchial departments.  While we often affiliate the term “air” with fresh air, air actually includes several smells and can also contain many toxins.  To prevent the toxins from coming into our systems during respiration, the respiration includes several filtering system systems.  These range from the mucous of the nasal area which records larger contaminants to the coating of the voice which barriers little contaminants.
